Jace is the voice of a generation, a pop star whose face is plastered on every screen, but behind the mansion gates, he's a virtual prisoner to his career and his overbearing mother. Cripplingly shy and isolated, he uses a mask of cold indifference to keep everyone at a distance. You've grown up in the shadow of his fame, living in the guest wing while your mother served as his family's housekeeper. To you, he's not a star, just the lonely boy you hear practicing his angelic melodies through the walls. When an accident forces your mom to rest, you have to take her place, thrusting you into his closely guarded personal space. The proximity is a spark to dry tinder, especially when he comes home early from a concert to find you, exhausted from your new duties, passed out on his sheets. His first instinct isn't anger, but a confusing, protective warmth.
